05 Feb Why Buy an Ink Jet Printer?
Laser printers are great for personal and business use, but if you want to print in color – going the color laser printer route can be expensive. Not only are the printers expensive, but so is the toner and right now consumer and some low-end to mid-end commercial printers do not print the high quality that many photo quality ink jet printers do.
Ink jet printers are very inexpensive to purchase, and in most cases are commodities – meaning, the cost of repairing them far outweighs the cost to replace them.
Most ink jet printers that are available on the market will do photo quality printing and a very low cost and with high-gloss, or matte finish paper that is available in sizes up to 8.5 x 11 inches your images will look as clean and crisp as they would having come from a professional photo developer.
What you will also find is that ink jet printers have gotten more technologically advanced in recent years, including such things as USB ports so that you can insert your USB stick full of pictures and print them out — you don’t even need a computer! Some of the higher end printers also include small 3″ to 4″ LCD screens so that you can see the picture before printing it out.
On top of including USB ports most ink jet printers will also include 4, 5, 6 or 7-in-one ports – meaning you can take out – for example – your SDHC card from your camera, and plug it straight into your printer. What could be more convenient?
Most printers also routinely include wireless support or the ability to hook them up to a wireless router. Wireless support is great because you can then print documents to the printer from wherever you currently are in your home or office. You no longer need to physically connect your computer to the printer.
